Departure Vessel Scheduling Optimization Considering Traffic Restrictions in Turning Basin: A Case Study for Xuwen Terminal

As the largest modern passenger Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) terminal around world, berthing operation of Xuwen is occasionally suspended due to bad weather, such as strong wind or thick fog. During suspension, number stranded passengers and vehicles increasingly accumulates. soon weather permits, growth exerts great pressure, especially on large-scale vessels leaving port, whose inefficiency may cause a loss access for inbound ships chaos port management. The focus this study improve efficiency departure scheduling by optimizing traffic rules in harbor basin. A mathematical optimization model formulated minimizing total time, then an adaptive simulated annealing (ASA) algorithm proposed solve model. specific decoding rule introduced, referring characteristics mentioned After employing data terminal, numerical experiment showed that method outperformed first-come, first-served (FCFS) strategy improved ant colony (ACA). Moreover, constructed simulation manifested validity optimal solution.
